That Ramsey goal last night....
... i'm still trying to work out when his body was in such a shit position he has connected like that... one of the most incredible long range strikes I think I have ever seen (up there with Holland's Arie Haan's blockbusters from the 78 WC).

I was in the South Bank where Chicken scored...like you said the place went berserk...remember we did all but score for 90 mins no thanks to Coton ....

Remember the crowd was low as well for that game even the Newham Recorder mentioned it about 17k

I had walked out by then and in Charleens the time we had scored

Not the sort of player you expect to bash one in like that.
Based on the fact that he looks like a lesbian librarian

Re: That Ramsey goal last night....
Definitely not a favourite at all,as it seemed to be the goal that killed our challenge in '86, but one of the most stunning I have ever seen was Johnny Metgod for Forest against us - absolute Howitzer of a shot and Parkes seemed to just crumble under the sheer ferocity of it.

Absolutely gutting, but putting West Ham aside for a moment, an incredible strike.

I remember Mark WARD smashing one in against Man U in the league cup from a free kick. Was ruled out as it was an indirect free kick, even though it should have stood as Gary BAILEY got a touch on it.

That was the best strike I have seen for a very long time, I remember hitting one like that (not that far out) into the top corner in the peeing rain, been living off that one for two years, if that indeed was his weaker foot he must get some credit for that but I dont think he could replicate it.

George's Last Word

Our League match against Watford on March 28th appeared likely to end in a goalless draw, but the early departees had already enjoyed 89 minutes of an excellent tussle between two well-matched sides.

Those who remained to await the final whistle saw a conclusion that was one of the highlights of the season; it set the seal on an afternoon during which the Hammers regained their confidence to end a run of defeats which had brought anxiety to the Boleyn Ground.

With only seconds remaining on the referee's timepiece, George Parris picked himself out of the mud to make contact with Tony Cottee's pass and drive the ball pasl Tony Coton from 20 yards out. The Watford 'keeper had brought off some fine saves to keep us scoreless at that stage, but he had no chance to stop the Hammer's pile-driver. It was a sickening experience for the Hornets' custodian, and one could appreciate his chagrin.

That goal meant the loss of one point for Watford, but added a very valuable pair to the one for which it appeared likely we would have to settle.

It concluded a bad week for the Hertfordshire club, as several things went away for them in the days preceding their F.A. Cup Semi-Final appearance. However, they are a resilient outfit, and it will be interesting to see how they fare in their next pre-Wemb-ley test against the Spurs.
